About Tulips 'N Quilts

As a little girl, I got my first children's sewing machine for "Sinterklaas" and fell in love with sewing and creating. Together with a dear friend, I took sewing lessons as a young adult and learned so much from our wonderful teacher in garment sewing and doll making.

When my husband and I moved our young family in 2006 from the Netherlands to Canada, I brought my sewing machine with us and quickly learned how to make quilts. Every free moment, our kitchen table was covered in fabrics, and I taught myself how to topstitch the quilts on my regular sewing machine.

In 2017, I purchased a longarm and enjoyed free-motion quilting. I loved taking classes and courses, but it wasn't until 2022 that I started offering my services to customers. Inspired by a quilt block one of my children made in school,                                                           the name Tulips 'n Quilts became a thing.
In the fall of 2024, we got the opportunity to acquire this building, and with lots of dedication, vision, and immense hard work,                wonderful men transformed this old "stinky" welding shop, into a beautiful space that is now the store front of Tulips 'N Quilts!

Hand sewing, cross-stitching, and embroidery are other areas of interest, and these products can also be found in our store.               Our knowledgeable and experienced team members seek to inspire, encourage, and assist new and experienced sewists and      thread enthusiasts with their creative journey!
